Staying in North Cornwall
Bude is just about as far North you can travel in Cornwall, very close to the border with Devon. It is a region of open spaces and moorland, along with long, golden beaches. A lot of residents of the UK remember the town from holidays when they were children, it being one of the first places that visitors to the county discovered.
It has retained a tourist bent, and is has all the facilities those planning on vacationing here would require. If you are researching self catering holidays in Cornwall, you will find an excellent location in Rock, not far from Polzeath and Port Isaac. Rock is a village stretched along the road to the marina, sitting here in the morning and enjoying a strong cup of coffee while the day gets going on the water is truly breathtaking.
That water is the Camel Estuary, which flows through a burgeoning region thanks to the influence of Padstow on the West bank, and Rock on the East. Both overlook each other, and The Estuary Directory provides North Cornwall tourist information, focusing on this stunning area.
Both of these two towns are linked by ferry and water taxi, which lands right in front of the Rock Inn. You will also find Rock Boat Charters here, who provide trips on the estuary and out to sea on a luxury power boat. |
